• Another great holiday books from Curious George - classic illustrations and a cute story about the mischievous monkey. Also great for those of us who don't celebrate the religious aspects of the holiday.
• My middle grandson adores anything Curious George - and this Easter book was perfect for the holiday gift. When the Wishing Star Foundation so generously provided my grandson and his immediate family a trip to visit the Orlando theme parks - Curious George made a special appearance for him - and it was the highlight of his experience! Little ones with problems endure so much - having a friend like CG to come calling - even in story book form - can be the best medicine.
• Love George Books!!
• I purchased this book as an Easter gift for my five year old nephew who is really into Curious George. We read it several times the day I gave it to him. Nice story! My nephew really liked it because he wanted to take it home with him. If he doesn't like something, he wants to leave it at my house.

• If you're a fan of Curious George then don't hesitate to buy the book. Beware that it is not for a baby or a young toddler. The paper pages can tear and there is a sheet of great stickers that are good for an older toddler or child. The stickers are a good quality.
• While I'm happy to read Curious George ad nauseum to my 2-year-old, who often asks that I read the same book to him up to 8 times in a row, this book gave me a headache. Not from reading it, but from the horrible chemical smell it was omitting. I'm not sure what type of ink was used, but it is awful. We have dozens and dozens of children's books that we've purchased new and I've never seen anything like it before. I'm going to try airing it out in my garage as another reviewer suggested. Also, the pages are crinkled (from the printing process?). The stickers in the back are cute. Overall, not happy with this purchase.
• The content is pretty typical of Curious George books- cute, predictable, and my 3 year old daughter will love it just like she loves all Curious George books. The stickers are an added bonus. Nothing special to it like other books in our collection, but a decent book for the Easter basket this year.
  
  But the book stinks! It is off putting some awfully powerful gasses that I have never smelled from a book before. The ink used to print the book is really, really stinky and we may have to return the book if it doesn't air out in the next few days in the garage. Toxic fumes are no bueno in a kiddos book. The book is cute enough, but not cute enough to put up with the stink.
  
  Update We let the book sit in the garage with the pages fanned out and that did the trick. Still makes me wonder what ink they used in printing this book, but at least we got the smell out.

• If you are an avid reader or book lover, you will relate to the cartoons that Bob Eckstein has collected in The Ultimate Cartoon Book of Book Cartoons by the World's Greatest Cartoonists. Eckstein features several dozen cartoonists whose cartoons have appeared in various publications. The New Yorker magazine is where most of these originated. If you have an idea of the style of the cartoons they publish, then you have an idea of this book.
  
  Several themes show up throughout the book. The quirky interactions of author appearances and book signings. The loss of the traditional bookstores, either to online retailers or to "bookstores" that sell all manner of things besides books. The struggles of the lives of authors and editors. The lifestyle of someone who simply likes to read.
  
  As Eckstein writes in the introduction, "Long live books, bookstores, and cartoons!" Book lovers understand.

  I agree with the description above. I think that those of us who enjoy all things book and publishing related will enjoy the humor in this collection. I know that I did!

• 3.5 stars rounded up. I enjoyed the cartoons about books in this 'ultimate' collection. The Ultimate Cartoon Book of Book Cartoons (can we get a more redundant title?) stayed interesting because over 25 cartoonists and different styles were featured.
  
  There were lots of smiles, but no roaring LOL moments where I disturbed others on the plane. Some cartoons were amusing, some VERY clever, some probably went over my head. One frame cartoons covered the reading world from authors to publishing to book groups to book stores. It was fun to bookmark some favorites and I keep going back to them.

• The Ultimate Cartoon Book of Book Cartoons by Bob Eckstein is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in late March.
  
  Ahaaaa, I had thought this book would be a chronological compilation of the best cartoons, but, no, it’s a series of different single-panel cartoons themed around books, i.e. writing, books, reading books, and going to a bookstore. ….Hrmm. Niche-y, but kinda sweet and smart, though it does seem like a book you’d put together while writing something else.
• This book of cartoons about books pokes fun at readers and non-readers alike. Comics range from depicting book-stores where employees panic at trying to find a book among tote bags, CDs, and stationary, to book clubs where members gossip about the "promiscuity" of another member who is in at least five other book clubs. From comics that joke about authors like Poe and Hemingway, to those just starting out. It is a fun, quick read that delights the inner bookworm.
• Clever cartoons that send up everything from book clubs to ebook readers to author signings. I hadn't seen any of these before so that was fun. Most just made me smile a bit - the only one that actually made me laugh was the Poe one.

• Another goofy and lovable collection of Sarah's Scribbles. I have to say, just going off the chosen title I had thought there would be a bunch more bits concerning cats. That's okay though cause it's always the regular slice-of-life comics that make me laugh out loud.
  
  Near the back there is a section about being an artist and getting criticized online and how this effects an artist's motivation and stuff. I think it's a good message that Sarah has put there about being sensitive to others and if you're an artist to not give up on doing what you love doing. There are just a lot of pages devoted to that.
• I absolutely love Sarah Scribbles!!! Besides the whole no kids thing (((I have 2))), her personality mirrors mine almost perfectly. I was so happy when I found out she had another book coming out that I decided to preorder it. I expected to get it in the beginning of April but yay it came on the 30th of March!!! Great book, my favorite section is closer towards the end. Smart artist and I hope to meet her one day.
  
  P.s. I love stroking the cover.
• This has cool purple fuzzy stuff on the cover! I loved this! The (dark, sarcastic) humor is right up my alley and I love that a lot of the panels are about anxiety. Also, it has a lot of "be yourself" positivity and seems like it would be a great thing for teenagers who aren't all shiny and happy types.
  
  There is an awesome section at the end that talks about online bullying and criticism. It's an encouraging ending for young artists not to give up.
  
  I have anxiety, so I could relate to the humor about it and loved the saltiness. There was just so much win.
• In an undeniably stressful time where a cloud of anxiety hangs over us all, another Sarah's Scribbles new book is the absolute perfect antidote, and not in the least because Sarah Anderson makes so many comics about dealing with her own anxieties. "Herding Cats" is an absolutely delightful blend of recent greatest hits, brand new comics, plus an open letter at the end that anyone who likes to create will be able to take to heart. Fans of her popular webcomic will be absolutely justified in their ecstatic scramble to get their own copy of this latest collection (speaking as one of said fans, I know that I won't be wasting any time time when this finally hits the shelves).
• I follow Sarah's Scribbles on instagram and I love her content. The book was in pristine condition with thick pages and fun comic entries. Since I have to buy a white elephant for the family white elephant, I purchased this book. Knowing my family, I will definitely not have to fight for it. That way I get to keep this gift all for myself! Buhahaha!

• I love her books. You should buy and read all of them. They are funny, sweet, and poignant. In "Herding Cats" there is also a section on the toxicity of the anonymous online world and how that can affect young artists. That part alone is a MUST READ for anyone creating art, especially if you have younger kids in your life, nieces, nephews, kids or grand kids, they need to read it.
  Plus it's a lot of fun.
  Highly recommend!
• Of course ive read the first in the series and this book didnt disappoint! Her comics are so true to most of us if not all and she is so hilarious and funny with her comics! She has light and dark humour and its just fun! Even though its meant to be funny, there are serious issues that she talks about and she shows us that we're not alone, not only in this book, but in her first two book in this series also! She delves but in a humorous way! I love Sarah Anderson and I hope she vomes out with more!

La Filotea (Introduzione alla vita devota) nacque per favorire la vita spirituale della nobildonna cattolica Luisa de Charmoisy.
San Francesco di Sales le aveva inviato numerosi scritti con consigli ed esercizi che la donna mostrò all’abate Fourier, il quale ammirò quegli scritti e pensò di pubblicarli. Era il 1608. Secondo le espressioni del tempo, san Francesco di Sales usa il termine “devozione” per indicare la vita spirituale impegnata in una crescita costante, della quale egli traccia un itinerario. Il suo linguaggio, essendo iniziato con il rapporto epistolare, è quello diretto ad una persona che egli chiama “Filotea”, nome greco che significa “amica di Dio”, identificabile con ogni lettore o lettrice.

Francesco di Sales (21 agosto 1567 – Lione, 28 dicembre 1622) è stato un vescovo cattolico francese. Fu il figlio primogenito del signore di Boisy, nobile di antica famiglia savoiarda, e ricevette una raffinata educazione. Il padre, che voleva per lui una carriera giuridica, lo mandò all'Università di Padova, dove Francesco si laureò, ma dove decise di divenire sacerdote. Ordinato il 18 dicembre 1593, fu inviato nella regione del Chiablese, dominata dal Calvinismo, e si dedicò soprattutto alla predicazione, prediligendo il metodo del dialogo inventò i cosiddetti «manifesti», che permettevano di raggiungere anche i fedeli più lontani.
È stato proclamato santo nel 1665 da papa Alessandro VII ed è uno dei dottori della Chiesa.
